Central Park West Residence
The distinctly long and narrow terrace of this 17th floor penthouse interweaves the planting scheme with custom-made furnishings.
Reclaimed teak, salvaged from World War II ship decks, was used to build individually sized planters. A trellis with climbing vines, mounted in front of a mirrored wall, marks one terminus of the terrace. Other plantings include Japanese maple, flowering crape myrtle, trailing ground covers, and evergreen shrubs.
Informal seating and a porch swing complement the residents’ use of the terrace garden for breakfast or an afternoon coffee.
