Luquer Street Residences

The design of this garden and entrance way for a residential tower in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn is a sophisticated take on a simple palette of cedar, bluestone, and perennial planting.

The Bamboo and Sango-Kaku trees echo the vertical elements of the architecture while the perennial plantings add texture and seasonal interest to the ground plane.

The repeating motif of shifting and offset bands creates visual interest and ties together the design of the various elements. Arrangements of fencing, planters, and paving create unique spaces for residents as well as soften the impact of the large tower on the surrounding residential neighborhood.
